The most ordinary line on ASI Berlin's website is the one that says the most about it. Every Wednesday, four to six in the afternoon, the Friedrichshain shop runs an open fingerboard workshop — listed on its own page, with times, like shop hours. Not a launch, not a contest weekend. Just a table, on a fixed afternoon, every week.
That is a very particular kind of institution to be. Plenty of fingerboard brands are a workshop and a drop calendar; a few are a shop. ASI Berlin is a shop with a room in it, in a city where German fingerboarding largely organised itself, and it has been attached to the scene in one form or another since 2003.
