Delidecks Type 2 trucks: 0.7 mm taller, 0.6 mm shorter, $54 either way

Straight from the product page, nothing added:

• Height: 0.7 mm taller than the Delidecks Original Trucks
• Wheelbase: 0.6 mm shorter than the Originals
• Kingpin: hex-hybrid system, described as an inverted design with a hex drive
• Axles: single, locked steel
• Hardware: locking, to keep the assembly together
• Colorway: green
• Price: $54 at Caramel Fingerboards

In the box: 2 hangers, 2 baseplates, 2 hybrid kingpins, 4 steel locknuts, 8 screws, stock bushings and pivot cups, and a fingerboard tool.

Note what isn't there. Both geometry figures are given as differences from the Originals, not as absolutes — so unless you already know the Original's height and wheelbase, you can't put a number on the Type 2. The listing now offers 32 mm and 34 mm sizes, which is the first thing most people want to know when matching trucks to a deck. There is no 33 mm option on the page.

This is spec-sheet reasoning, not a verdict. Nobody has published a side-by-side that I can point you to.

Taller by 0.7 mm. Extra height means more room between the deck's underside and whatever the trucks are sitting on — relevant the moment the hanger is on metal coping or the edge of a ledge and the deck is trying to clear it. It also raises the deck on top of the same bushing stack, which changes the leverage you're applying through your fingers before the bushings even get a say. Same bushings, different feel, is a normal outcome of a height change.

Shorter wheelbase by 0.6 mm. On the truck, that pulls the axle line in relative to the mounting holes, which shortens the effective distance between the two axles once the pair is on a deck. The common trade is a livelier, quicker board with slightly less settled landings. The listing doesn't say how the measurement is taken — axle to mounting hole, or something else — so treat the direction of travel as confirmed and the exact geometry as not.

Stack the two together and the Type 2 reads, on paper, as the more nervous of the two: higher and shorter rather than lower and longer. Delidecks itself only claims "a different setup," and that's the honest framing.

At the time of writing, there was nothing in front of me. These first appeared in the feed on October 11, and at the time of writing I have no Reddit thread, no Discord report and no shop review to attribute. Anyone who bought in the first week was part of the test batch.

If you're the kind of person who reads threads before spending, here's what's actually worth watching for once reports do appear:

• Whether the hex drive on the kingpin holds up to repeated tightening, or rounds out. Hex interfaces are either excellent or a one-way trip.
• Whether the steel locknuts keep thread tension after a few tear-downs.
• How the stock bushings compare to whatever you're currently running — stock bushings are the cheapest variable to change and the first thing most people swap.
• How the hanger finish behaves on metal coping and angle iron: grinds clean, or grabs.

If you already ride Delidecks Originals and like them, skip this. A 0.7 mm height change and a 0.6 mm wheelbase change are real, but they are a tuning move, not an upgrade, and 54 is a lot to spend finding out you preferred the setup you had. Spend it on bushings and a second set of wheels and you'll move your feel further for less.

If you're buying your first pair of Delidecks, the Type 2 is the one the brand is pushing as the current geometry, and the kit is complete in a way that matters: both kingpins, both sets of locknuts, screws, pivot cups, stock bushings and the tool to drive the hex. You are not finishing the purchase with a second order for hardware.

And if you specifically want a quicker, higher-riding setup — more clearance over coping, a shorter effective wheelbase under the fingers — this is the version aimed at you, with the caveat that it's aimed on paper. The one thing I'd want before committing 54 is the hanger width, and right now the listing doesn't give it.
