White urethane, straight-cut edges, a single locked bearing in each wheel: the Piro Yeti White Tablet Mini is the brand's attempt to give a street wheel the riding surface of its bowl shape without the weight that usually comes with it. It turned up on the Skull Fingerboards product page on September 18 at 31.95 for a set of four.
Piro's Tablet Mini puts a bowl wheel's surface on a street wheel
The Yeti White Tablet Mini is a straight-cut 7 mm urethane wheel on a locked single bearing, listed at 31.95 at Skull Fingerboards. Here is what the listing confirms and what it leaves open.
Parte 1 de 3
What it is
Piro is a Toronto outfit that hand-casts urethane wheels, pivot cups and bushings, and the Tablet is one of its named shapes rather than a one-off colorway.
The listed specs are short and specific:
- Shape: straight cut, given as 7 mm x 4.75 mm. The listing doesn't label which figure is diameter and which is width, though the conventional reading is a 7 mm wheel running 4.75 mm across.
- Urethane: 65D, which Piro describes as "the perfect amount of grip and squeak."
- Bearings: ABEC-9, one per wheel, in what Piro calls a locked single-bearing design — the bearing is fixed in the wheel rather than floating.
- In the box: four wheels and two stickers.
What the page doesn't say is how the urethane is cast, whether the core is a separate piece, or what exactly makes the Mini a Mini rather than a standard Tablet. There is no stated weight either, which matters given that lightness is half the pitch.
Our tablet series integrates the wider riding surface normally found in our bowl series, into a lighter, slimmer street wheel.

Why it lands
The design logic is readable straight off the profile. A straight cut means the urethane meets the surface as a flat band rather than rolling off a rounded shoulder, so the full 4.75 mm is in play on a ledge or a flatbar instead of a thin strip in the middle. That is the "wider riding surface" Piro is borrowing from its bowl shape, and it is also the part of the claim you can see rather than take on trust.
The lighter, slimmer half of the claim is harder to check from a listing. There is no weight figure and no comparison to the bowl wheel's dimensions, so "slimmer" is relative to something Piro hasn't published here. Fingerboarders who already run the bowl shape will know the difference by feel; everyone else is reading a spec sheet.
The locked single bearing is the quieter decision and probably the more consequential one. One bearing per wheel keeps the rolling mass down and removes the side-to-side play you get when a bearing can shift in its seat — which is exactly what you want for the "effortless lock-ins" Piro is advertising, since a wheel that doesn't wobble on the axle gives you a more predictable edge to catch on coping or a rail. The trade-off with any single-bearing design is that there is less structure holding the wheel square if the bond or the seat ever gives, and the listing doesn't say how the bearing is retained.
At 65D the urethane sits in grippy territory — Piro's own note about squeak is a tell that it bites rather than skates loose on a slick ledge. On a well-waxed surface that reads as control; on bare wood or a dusty table it will feel slower than a harder compound.
