It usually arrives like this: I've had my complete a few weeks, something feels wrong, what should I upgrade first? And the answers that come back are almost always a part — better trucks, better wheels, a deck from the brand everyone is posting.
Short answer
Don't buy anything yet. Run a compatibility audit first, in this order: alignment, width, wheel fit, hardware, tuning. Four of those five steps cost nothing but an evening at a table with a tool, and in my read of what we've published over the last month, that's where the trouble actually lives. Setup problems cluster at the interfaces between parts, not inside any one part.
So here's the ranking: five checks, ordered by how often they're the real culprit and how little they cost to rule out. Work down it and stop at the first thing that's genuinely wrong. That's your upgrade.
